5 Axis Machines
5 Axis Machines

A wide variety of solutions exist, and featuring standard or high speed router spindles, including the unique Heian-Fanuc Servo Spindle: the ultimate in precision and flexibility, due to its wide usable speed range.

A variety of models with differing travelling principles are available to suit specific applications, dynamics, precision and environments. Special twin head models are also provided.

Standard Z axis lengths include 600, 800 and 1000 mm. On request, we can also provide extra large 3D machining capacities.

Whatever your requirements, you will find the Heian solution robust, strong and reliable.

5-Axis 3-D High Speed Machining

Increasingly popular are the "Heian 5-Axis Routers" available with single or twin tables, and a variety of spindles types, to suit the most demanding requirements.

Heian's 5-Axis machines have gained an enviable reputation worldwide

5-Axis machines present different challenges to their 3-Axis cousins, and the machines versatility demands a different machining strategy.

Heian's recognition of the practical solutions required, enabled the development in 5-Axis to be concentrated in certain crucial areas. The unique result was a significant break-through in 3-D 5-Axis systems, enabling Heian to provide usable (user-friendly), fully programmable production systems suitable for companies large and small, with no previous CNC experience required.

High Quality & Long Term Reliability

The high quality construction, familiar to the standard 3-Axis Heian, has been improved to ensure the cross-beams and Z-Axis supports provide the rigidity and stability required for large three dimensional working areas of 500 mm3, or more. High accuracy is crucial given such large 3D working areas, but difficult to achieve in practise on both 3 and 5-Axis machines. The problem is even more apparent given the more complex machine specifications and high routing speeds necessary for producing components efficiently.

Special Universal Spindles are designed to enable the 5-Axis head to satisfactorily machine a wide variety of substrates, with widely varying loads on the cutter and spindle, using cutting tools up to 150 mm in diameter, operating from 300 to 20,000 rpm.
